Stoney Creek Environmental Park
We Need Your HELP to raise $55,000 to use as matching dollars for a state grant to bring funding into conserving the Stoney Creek Environmental Area. The Stoney Creek Wetland Restoration and Flood Resiliency project is a critical part of ongoing efforts to reduce the flooding impacts on the town.
Stoney Creek Environmental Park includes a section of Stoney Creek which is home to many diverse species, including some that are species of greatest conservation need. We are working to conserve the resources, by improving habitat, removing invasive plant species and reintroducing native plants that restore and enhance the riparian buffer, mitigate flooding issues, and provide critical habitat for species of greatest conservation need.
The replacement of invasive plant species with native plants promote a healthy biodiverse habitat that supports our native species and protects our water resources by filtering out harmful chemicals that come from water runoff, stabilizing the soil within the riparian buffer and providing habitat for native wildlife.
Please consider donating to help us continue these efforts and provide green space that promotes conservation and a biodiverse ecosystem, while enhancing our Community in the Town of Nashville!
To donate by mail make checks payable to: Wildlife & Outdoor Recreation Foundation, PO Box 96, Red Oak, NC 27868
